Design & Process
What does full-service interior design actually include?
Everything from the first spatial concept through the final installation — floor plans, material selection, contractor coordination, procurement, and site visits throughout construction. You make the major decisions. We handle the rest. See how the process works →
Do you take on partial projects or single rooms?
Studioayse works on a full-service basis — whether that's a single kitchen, a primary bathroom, or a complete home renovation. Full-service means we take responsibility for the entire design process from concept through installation: drawings, materials, contractor coordination, and site oversight. We don't offer partial consultations or styling-only services, because the outcome matters as much as the idea.
How do you design for families with children and pets?
By choosing materials that age well rather than show every mark. Natural stone, solid wood, and quality textiles develop character over time — they look better with use, not worse. We balance what the room needs to be and what it needs to withstand. The two are rarely in conflict when the right materials are chosen from the beginning.
What is biophilic design, and do you incorporate it?
Biophilic design brings elements of the natural world — light, material, texture, views — into the built environment in ways that support how people actually feel. It is not a style; it is an approach to how a home can be genuinely restorative. Read more about biophilic design → We apply it across every project, from how a room is oriented toward light to the materials chosen for a bathroom.
Scope & Investment
Which renovations tend to add the most lasting value?
In the SF Bay Area, kitchens and primary bathrooms consistently return the highest value — both at resale and in daily quality of life. Layout improvements that open a floor plan, increase natural light, or make a home function more naturally for the people in it tend to have the most lasting impact. We focus on changes that a home will carry well for ten to twenty years, not just until the next trend cycle.
How long does a renovation typically take?
A primary bathroom renovation runs four to six months from design through construction completion. A kitchen is typically six to nine months. A full-home renovation is twelve to eighteen months, sometimes longer for larger estates. We give you a realistic timeline at the outset and communicate throughout — including when things shift.
Getting Started
What areas of the Bay Area do you serve?
Studioayse works throughout the San Francisco Bay Area — Walnut Creek, Orinda, Lafayette, Danville, Alamo, Pleasanton, and across the region including San Francisco, Marin, and the Peninsula.
How do I know if we're the right fit?
We begin every project with a conversation — not a questionnaire. If after speaking with us the scope, timeline, and approach feel right, we move forward together. There is no commitment in the first conversation. Reach out to begin →
