Recent work in Orinda
A recent renovation in Orinda focused on a primary bathroom that had accumulated updates over the years — each one reasonable in isolation, but collectively working against the home's natural character. The brief was coherence: bringing the space into alignment with the hillside setting and the rhythm of daily life.
The design centered on light. The shower was positioned to receive the north-facing windows' consistent, diffused daylight. A custom curved glass enclosure and two-faced vanity were designed specifically to preserve the garden view from both positions. Calacatta Gold marble, Graff fixtures, and ceiling-hung mirrors completed a room that feels resolved rather than decorated.
